3,898 teams including more than 97,000 students and 29,000 mentors from 34 countries built robots. The 2020 season was planned to include 66 Regional Competitions, 105 District Qualifying Competitions, and 11 District Championships.
How much does an FLL team cost?
New FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams can expect to pay approximately $800 for team registration, the Challenge Set, and a reusable robot kit of parts. Veteran teams will pay less since the robot set can be used year after year. Team registration and the Challenge Set must be purchased every season.
How do I join my FIRST Lego League team?
Registration for FLL teams began the first week-end of May at http://gofll.usfirst.org. Be sure to READ the Important Registration Information page found there. Team registration is usually around $225. Each team must order a Field Setup Kit (FSK) for the current season’s game – around $75 with shipping.

Each FIRST LEGO League team needs two adult lead coaches. All skill levels are welcomed and needed, technical or non-technical. Teams need all kinds of skills and creativity to succeed. The most successful coaches are people with at least an interest in science and technology, and in helping kids discover and learn!
